How Much Does a Website Cost in India? A 2026 Guide

23 June 2026  ·  6 min read

Ask three companies what a website costs and you will get three wildly different answers, anywhere from five thousand rupees to five lakhs. That is not because anyone is lying. It is because "a website" can mean a template skinned in an afternoon or a custom-built platform, and the word covers both. So before you compare prices, it helps to understand what actually drives them.

What you are really paying for

The big cost levers are these:

  • Custom design versus a template. A site adapted from a ready layout costs a fraction of one designed from scratch. For most small businesses, a well-adapted layout is perfectly good.
  • Static versus dynamic. A fixed set of pages is cheaper than a site with a content system you manage yourself. Pay for a content system only if you will use it.
  • Number of pages. Five pages is less work than fifteen. Simple, but it adds up.
  • E-commerce. A store with a cart, payments, and product management is a different category of work from a brochure site.
  • Content. If you supply the words and images, the project is faster and cheaper. If you want it written for you, that is real work and it is priced separately.

The costs nobody mentions upfront

A website is not a one-time purchase. Underneath it sit three recurring things: your domain name, your hosting, and your business email. Plenty of cheap quotes leave these out, so the headline price looks low and the bills arrive later. Then there is ongoing maintenance, security updates, and the occasional change, which a serious provider builds into a care plan.

When you compare two quotes, the real question is not the build price. It is the total for the first year, including domain, hosting, email, and support, and what year two looks like after that. A cheap build with expensive, separate recurring fees can cost more than an all-inclusive package that looked dearer on day one.

What a fair price looks like in 2026

For an Indian small business, here is a rough map. Template shops sell sub-fifteen-thousand-rupee sites, but those are skinned templates with the recurring costs usually billed separately. Established agencies charge upward of forty thousand for a custom five-page site and well into the lakhs for larger or e-commerce builds. Freelancers sit in between, with the variability that comes with one person.

The trap at the bottom is hidden costs and disappearing support. The trap at the top is paying agency rates for a site a small business does not need.

How we price it

We publish our prices openly, which is rarer than it should be. Our website packages start at ₹24,999 for a five-page Starter site, and that price is all-inclusive for the first year: design, your domain, hosting, and business email, with nothing billed separately and a fixed two to three week timeline. Growth and E-commerce step up from there, each listed with exactly what is included. After year one, a care plan keeps everything running from a few thousand rupees a year, not a monthly surprise.

The point is not that we are the cheapest. The point is that you can see the whole cost before you commit, compare it honestly against any other quote, and know there is no second bill waiting. If you want to talk it through, we work with businesses in Chennai, Bangalore, Madurai, and across Tamil Nadu.
